Current main research activities:Prof. Bíró István is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Szeged, Hungary (Hungary's No. 1 overall ranked university), and supervisor of Ph. He is also the head of the Sports Engineering Sub-Committee of the Mechanical Engineering Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, a member of the Academic Council of the University of Szeged, and a member of the Academic Council of the University of Debrecen, Hungary. His research interests include biomaterial properties and sports equipment development, mechanical mechanisms of knee injuries, and material mechanics and biomechanics of total knee replacement. Until now, he has published more than 80 research papers in SCI-indexed journals, 3 monographs, and more than 10 times as a keynote speaker in international conferences.
