1、Physical Education Major Introduction
Physical education major traces its origin to the former Physical Education Department of Ningbo Normal College, which first recruited physical education specialists in 1985 and began to recruit physical education undergraduates in 1994; physical education was approved as a national characteristic specialty by the Ministry of Education in 2010, and approved as a key specialty construction project of Zhejiang Province in 2012, and approved as an advantageous specialty of Zhejiang Province in 2016, and passed the second-level specialty certification of teacher-training schools by the Ministry of Education in 2020, and passed the second-level specialty certification of teacher-training schools by the Ministry of Education in 2024. In 2020, it passed the second-level professional certification of teacher training in general colleges and universities by the Ministry of Education, in 2020, it was selected as a national first-class undergraduate professional construction site, in 2023, it was selected as a branded professional construction site in Ningbo, and in 2024, it was ranked 5★ in Qiu Junping Ranking, and it was ranked 8th in the country, with a ranking percentage of 2.35%. The Physical Education major of Ningbo University is ranked No.4 in China by Allison Alumni Association 2022 Top Physical Education Majors in Chinese Universities, with a rating of 6★ and A+. 2022 Softbank China University Majors (Physical Education) is ranked No.14 (No.1 in the province), with a rating of A level. 3、Teaching conditions
(1) Teaching venues and facilities
Zhou Yiqing Comprehensive Gymnasium is located in the main part of Ningbo University on the banks of the Yongjiang River, with a floor area of 14,500 square meters, including the main arena, volleyball teaching hall, basketball teaching hall, aerobics, yoga teaching hall, table tennis teaching hall, taekwondo teaching hall, gymnastics, bodybuilding teaching hall.
(2) Teaching Practice Bases
More than 10 off-campus teaching practice bases have been established, including Zhenhai Middle School.
(3) International Cooperation Bases
Taking full advantage of the international quality resources and cross-fusion of disciplines, the university has established several overseas research centers jointly with internationally renowned universities; at the same time, it has set up two Confucius Institutes in Iceland and Madagascar to teach traditional sports, and an annual average of 15 people go overseas to engage in short-term courses, thus forming a mode of cultivating innovative sports talents for the “One Belt, One Road”.

(2) Cultivation Effectiveness
★Physical education majors won the second prize in the category of basic theoretical knowledge and teaching skills, the second prize in the category of sports skills and the second prize in the group in the National Physical Education Majors' Basic Skills Competition in 2021.
